Ce: YAG crystal (chemical formula Ce: Y3Al5O12, also known as cerium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet crystal) is a scintillation crystal with excellent scintillation performance, which is widely used in scientific research and industrial high-energy ray detection.  Ce: YAG crystal shows strong absorption peaks in the X-ray band and extreme ultraviolet band, and the emission wavelength is in the range area of 500-600nm, which is well matched with the receiving sensitive wavelength of ordinary photomultiplier tubes (PMT) and silicon photodiodes (PD).

Ce: YAG shows stable physical and chemical properties, high thermal conductivity, and resistance to harsh operating environments. It exhibits excellent scintillating characteristics, such as high scintillating efficiency, high light yield, and fast decay time (about 70ns). Ce: YAG crystals or Ce: YAG ceramics are widely used in photomultiplier tubes, photoelectric counters, scintillation screens and other devices.  Which is used to detect high-energy particles, such as alpha particles, β rays, extreme ultraviolet, etc.  Because of the excellent scintillation performance of Ce:YAG crystal, it is widely used in CT, scanning electron microscope and other equipment. In particular, Ce:YAG single crystal can prepare to thin screens with a thickness of less than 30 um, which plays an important role in X-ray scintillator screens.
